Is ValCo a custom frame shop?

We create handmade art in the form of the modern Victorian. It is art that wraps around your traditional art.  Each component starts as a raw wood moulding or dimensional lumber. The real beauty of making the modern Victorian by hand is in the customization, blurring the line between art and frame. Each centerpiece requires a unique ValCo with personality. Designing and building with ValCo is an artistic journey ending with an heirloom level finished project.

When will my ValCo ship?

Built projects ship within four business days. Custom projects take two to six weeks from the time the build begins. Customized carved moulding designs, corners, accent pieces or design changes may extend the timeline. The waiting list is usually three weeks. The timeline begins once payment is made. This does not include design time.

Are the projects actually handmade? Doesn’t picture frame moulding come already colored?

Yes they are really handmade. Nearly all moulding components, corner blocks, inlays, dimensional lumber, and accent pieces start as raw wood or raw carved wood. Every inch is prepped, colored, and finished by hand. Quality and appearance are of the utmost importance. Because of the handmade nature of the product there may sometimes be a slightly curved length, asymmetrical woodgrain pattern, inconsistent woodgrain depth or ornamental feature. We strive for perfection and stand proudly behind every project that is produced.
